Xiang Peng, Lee Sang Su, and Zhu Yuling rise fast after standout performances
With China’s top stars absent from WTT Champions Incheon, it was a golden opportunity for others to shine—and shine they did. Three players in particular took full advantage of the moment, earning valuable points and making major leaps in the latest ITTF World Ranking update on April 8, 2025.
🚀 Xiang Peng | +10 → World No. 13
Fresh off his stunning title win in Incheon, Xiang Peng continues his rapid rise. The young Chinese star surged 10 spots to reach a career-high World No. 13. His dominant 4-0 win in the final confirmed what many had suspected: he’s ready for the big stage. A debut in the Top 10 now seems like only a matter of time.
🔥 Lee Sang Su | +24 → World No. 21
The Korean veteran proved he’s still a major force, especially in front of his home crowd. Lee Sang Su jumped a massive 24 spots after reaching the final, landing at World No. 21. His previous ranking had not reflected his true level, and his performance in Incheon was a strong reminder of what he’s capable of.
📈 Zhu Yuling | +13 → World No. 24
Zhu Yuling’s comeback story continues to inspire. After battling through illness and time away from the tour, the former World No. 1 is on a mission to reclaim her spot among the elite. With a semifinal finish in Incheon, she rose 13 spots to No. 24—and it likely won’t be long before she’s back in the Top 10. For nearly a decade (2013–2022), she lived in that tier. Now, she’s heading back home.
Stay tuned—these three are climbing fast, and the 2025 season is just heating up.
