Marcos Freitas, the former top-10 player and European champion, is making his return to the Tischtennis Bundesliga (TTBL) after 14 years. The Portuguese athlete, who earned a ninth-place finish at the 2024 Paris Olympics, has signed with Champions League participant Post SV Mühlhausen for the upcoming season.
This marks Freitas' fifth time playing for a German club. In addition to his tenure with TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen, Freitas has played for TTC Jülich, a former European Cup winner, and Borussia Düsseldorf, where he helped secure a Champions League title and the Bundesliga championship in 2009.

At 36 years old, Freitas is the third and final new addition to Mühlhausen for the upcoming season. Joining him are Taiwanese player Liao Cheng-Ting, ranked in the top 75, and Germany's national player Kay Stumper. Freitas is eager to bring his wealth of experience and skills to the team, hoping to make a significant impact in the TTBL next season.
