For the past two years, Felix Lebrun had to settle for second place at the French National Championships, falling short in the finals against his older brother, Alexis. But in 2025, the story finally changed. In a high-intensity showdown in Levallois, the 18-year-old triumphed in a nail-biting seven-game thriller (11:9, 11:9, 10:12, 14:16, 8:11, 12:10, 11:7) to claim his first national singles title.
A Final Full of Twists and Turns
The men’s singles final was once again a Lebrun family affair, and it delivered a spectacle of world-class table tennis. Felix started strong, winning the first two games 11:9, showcasing his aggressive play and tactical precision. However, Alexis fought back with remarkable resilience, narrowly taking the third and fourth games, including an intense 16:14 battle.
With momentum on his side, Alexis continued his comeback, winning the fifth game 11:8 and moving within one set of his fourth consecutive title. The pressure mounted, and Alexis even had a match point in the sixth game, but Felix showed incredible mental strength, saving it and forcing a decider with a clutch 12:10 win.
In the final game, Felix took control early and never looked back, closing it out 11:7. The moment his last shot landed, he leaped onto the table in celebration—his redemption was complete.
What’s Next for the Lebrun Brothers?
With both Alexis and Felix at the peak of French table tennis, the next challenge awaits them on the international stage at the WTT Champions Incheon (April 1 - April 6, 2025).
The rivalry between the brothers is far from over, and fans can expect more epic battles in the years to come.
